The search on taxonomic level is done on a kingdom, phylum, class, order or family.

The search on species is only among the genus and species levels.
The syntax must respect the mandatory uppercase for the genus names. The sub-genus are identified by a space between the species and the sub-species names, and the varieties and forms by respectively ' v ',' var ' or ' f ' (pay attention to spaces) before their names.

The structure of this species list taxonomical tree is taken from the Catalogue of Life in the   species 2000 Database. It is a standardized pratical tool in inventoring and monitoring  biodiversity worldwide.
It doesn't aim at making phylogeny or taxonomy.
